Default Port Fowarding

Hey guys,
I have a simple question: can you forward a port to both computers or is it only different unique ports per computer? Also is forwarding Port 80 wise?

As far as I know, you can only forward a port to one IP. You can't do it with consumer level routers. Get a good enough cisco router, and I could see it happening.

Forwarding port 80 is only nessesary if you're running a web server on one of your computers on the network. It being wise isn't really a question. Just if you do forward it, or any other ports, make sure you've got firewall software installed on the computer you're forwarding those ports to.

Usually you can only forward a unique port to particular computer. If you have 2 web servers, you can actually configure each server to listen on different ports, like server A listens to port 80 and server B listens to port 8080, so that you can have port forwarding works in this case.

Port Forwarding how-to on Linksys router

Hope helps..
