Default ping + hub

will connecting my computer to a hub, with one other computer create more ping? if so, how can i lower it?

In general it will create more traffic, yes. However what kind of environment are you in? Any more than 2 computers? What would be your reason behind it?

youl only notice a slight increase, however ul get spikes when someone on the computer loads pages sometimes.

With just 2 computer on the hub? Don't worry about it, it won't have much impact on your segment and computer. If you have like a dozen computer, you should consider a switch. With a switch, each computer can have it's own collision domain. Like a car with it's own lane to travel freely instead of sharing a lane with other car like a hub.
