Default PC To PC Usb Transfer

I just wanted to know if I can transer files from one computer to another computer via USB. I have a USB cable at my house. It came with a camera of mine, and both of the ends fit into my computer's USB slot. So, would I be able to transfer files through one computer to the other using this USB cable?

Yes. You just have to establish a connection in my network places, network connections.

If you're running windows xp, the computers should automatically detect a connection. Make sure file and printer sharing is enabled. Also disable or allow local connections on any filewalls you have installed.

I'm pretty sure you need a special USB device that the 2 USB cables plug into, which switches the signal.....

Connecting directly via a USB cable would be like using a patch cable to connect 2 ethernet cards

Either that or for probably $10.00 at Staples you can get a USB to RJ-45 converter, (you would need 2) and then buy a CAT5 crossover cable.

Just get yourself a network port, and a crossover cable. It is much faster than usb, and avoids all this confusion. (plus you get all the other benifits of a network like sharing internet and printers)

Default Re:

Hello,

You need a cable like these:

http://www.cwol.com/usb/usb-2-usb-da...able-uc250.htm

http://www.usbgear.com/CANET103.html

http://www.usbgear.com/USBG-20NET1.html

They have onboard controllers, hence that strange block that's placed on the cable (they aren't ferrite rings).
