Default pc anywhere

If i want to use pc anywhere but the computer i want to connect to runs through a router, there for the computer doesnt have a public ip, what must i configure to gain access. sorry if it is a little vague but i have not set it up yet because i want to get the info first about if first.

this is the router i have

I've never used PC anywhere but with Remote Desktop, you need to first assign the PC a static local address, then within the firewall open a port for the Remote Desktop, then from the port forwarding in your router, open that same port and assign it the IP address of the machine your connecting too.

Then to connect you'll have enter your external IP address plus the port so it would look like 66.233.212.13; 4000

does it matter what i select for a port number.

If you've only got 1 PC behind the router using it, you shouldn't have to open any ports on the PC (I don't think), because when you enable remote desktop the XP firewall automatically opens port 3389. But you will probably still have to open it on the router.

As for which ones, I'm not positive, maybe someone else can help us out here
