have two computers one running off a wireless card wmp54gs that is hooked onto an unsecured network close by, it also has two other network adapters for wired connection. what i want is to run a cat 5 cable from the computer that has the internet (wireless connect) and connect it to a network card on the other computer, and than share the internet through ICS. problem is through the cat 5 cable the computers do not see each other it shows that the "cable is not connected". now i have no router, doen't plan on getting one unless i absolutely need to, i never turn off the wireless connection anywayz, girl is allwayz downloading someting. i also read that with a wireless card the nic will not work, don't know if that is true, and i also read that a cross over cable is needed. if anyone can guide me in the right direction that would be outstanding.
