Hello all, I need some help I am at my wits end. I had 3 pc's working on my home network through a Linksys router. I installed some software for a USB camera on the 98SE machine and lost network connection. I uninstalled the new software and went through all the normal network setups, still nothing and no lights on the back of the NIC (98 says it is fine with no conflicts). Today I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled 98se, set eveything back up and still nothing. Windows still says the NIC is working with no conflicts. Yes I even replaced the cable and have checked it with a different computer and tried diff ports on the router. I'm hoping I have missed something simple.

Have you tried uninstalling the NIC and reinstalling it? Physically take it out of the machine and then boot up without it. Then shut it down and restart it with it back in. replace the driver with the latest driver from the manu's website.

I tried 2 different NIC before but haven't removed it since I reinstalled tonight. I will try removing it and restarting then reinstalling the card.
