| newegg.com modem probs When I go to newegg I can click around for a while but when I click on an item to see the details it acts like its loading, very slowly, but then goes to the "unable to access web page". I have been having these problems since I got my new dsl modem. I called my isp and they dont really know what the problem is(I think I might know more than them). Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this.

I would assume this has never happen before and all network hardware and Internet software you are using are the same (beside DSL modem and line)? |

| Re: newegg.com modem probs I'm using a linksys router but I connect directly to the pc also and it does the same thing. It only does this to newegg.com.

| Re: newegg.com modem probs Same is happening to me, but I swapped back out to our old modem. New modem they sent me, is just sitting over on a counter... I had called them as well, and they didn't know what was going on either. Old modem connects fine, but as soon as I swap back out to the new one, this happens. They changed the connection type for some reason, and they said they needed to send out new modems for the change (although, my old modem is still working, 3 months after they decided to make the change LOL). And yes, it's only Newegg. I tried many other secure websites (PayPal, bank site, ebay, amazon, etc.) and they all work. It's just Newegg. Both Jess and I are stumped...

| Re: newegg.com modem probs PPPoE or PPPoA? What is the model of your DSL modem, what is the max MTU allow by your ISP. You should call them up for this infomation and they should tell you, except for the model of the DSL modem.
Also, what operating system, who is the ISP?

| Re: newegg.com modem probs I can tell you the same stuff as jess can, since we're in the same town. It's a PPPoE connection. Not sure exactly of the model of the modem (I'll check that out later).. I know it's a Zhone brand, tho. Not sure what the max MTU is, either. We're both running on XP home, and we're both running off of Golden West Telecommunications (only ISP we can get where we live).

| Re: newegg.com modem probs I logged into my modem and this might be the problem when I test with "OAM F4": Test ATM OAM F4 segment ping: FAIL, Test ATM OAM F4 end-to-end ping: FAIL.
Those are the 2 tests that fail. I click on the help and it just says to uplug and reset the modem, which I did, but it didn't help.
