Default New pc components, formatted harddrive and won't connect tried all I know:

So I bought new computer components, q6600, giga ds4 sli, 2gb 6400. The other specs are in my sig.
I have a D-Link modem-router, and I can't connect due to, i THINK, network hardware/adapter not being installed. Fair enough, but where should that driver come from, the motherboard discs? Cos there's nothing on there. It's the ethernet adapter yea? Tried like network connections\properties\obtain ip and that lot.
I'm just really at a loss as to what the problem is.
What are the things needed to do when trying to connect to the net after a new motherboard/hdd format.
I didn't think i was this stupid but it's been ages since i did anything like this . Anything at all would be great cos i'm having a crap day lol .
There's a dlink 'click and connect' disk to connect with but it goes through step by step, plug in lan cable here, plug router in to socket, plug the other end of the cable in your pc, then last step it goes to connect and instantly comes up with an error box:

dslutilty.exe.
'make sure cables are plugged in'
'make sure ethernet cable is properly connect'
'make sure network card is properly installed'.

The CD that comes with a motherboard, should have all the drivers necessary. When I install a fresh copy of Windows, I pop the motherboard CD right in, and install the necessary drivers. Including the ethernet driver.

If you are using the integrated NIC on the motherboard, then yes, as B1gapl stated, the drivers will be on media bundled in the package, unless you an OEM version with no cables & no media... in that case, get them from the Gigabyte homepage.

Posting on my new pc :
There was 2 disks which came with the motherboard, and yes, they were the two things I put in my dvd drive, installed everything on both, and one of them says on it, Network. Anyway long story short, downloaded drivers off of gigabyte website and put em on my pc, installed, router disk fired right up and connected. Happy now thanks for the replies.
