hey, my friend wants me to set up her shared internet network at her house between 3 computers, 2 of which are running windows 98 and the other XP Home. First of all i know they have satelite TV and i want to know will this create much interference and how will i know before i start running wires all over? i want to keep it wired simply because i doubt windows 98 will support it easily, plus its cheaper, i have half the equipment they can have and i dont know how to secure a wireless network. so how can i set this up wired without having satelite interference and without spending extra on longer cables and repeaters and such. second i have a 10 MBit hub they can use(not a router, not a switch, a hub, for small workgroups) i heard that if you put a cross over cable from the output port on the dsl modem(that normally goes to the one computer) to the hub and then plug the rest of the computers into any other port on the hub and they will automatically get shared internet, i'd rather not have to go thru a bunch of configuration with ICS. thank you for any help it will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Okay just get a simple router, the HUB does not have a NAT and they only payed for one IP, theirfor only one PC could connect thru that hub

And, satalitte will not be a problem at all, dont worry about it.

ok, thanks for info, but ARE YOU SURE on the satelite thing, because i even asked my network structures one teacher and he said they do create noise when in the pathway of an ethernet network
