Default Network Problem

Well right now at work - here is the problem

Their is a server set up for a specific department - all rights have been given to the specific user -

She can access the server but not the files from her computer - she will go in to the server and try to open a file and get the error message that she can not open them etc..

However - when she goes to any other computer - she can access the server and the files with no problem -

Windows XP pro is on the machine she has/ also yes she is the admin for her own comp

? is why cant she access the files from her computer but from all the others?

Thanks

when she goes to the other computer, does she log in as another user? are you hosting a domain environment? or a p-2-p?

Rejoin the machine to the domain. ( or pull gp down )
Make sure its not a LOCAL admin account.
Make sure she has full control through both permissions settings.
If the "group" she is in has full control move her out of the group and add her name to the acs to full control.

By the way... If you have an error message, post the ENTIRE error message.

Brady the error reads as this

"The document name or path is not valid. Try these suggestions

*Check file permissions for file or drive

*Use file open dialog box"

Also gonig to try what you said now.

Update -

I made an account to this group - and I could not get access the files from her computer -

I then went to my computer in my office and could get to them just fine -

So it is something within her computer that is preventing the access to the files.

Thanks again Microsoft lol
