I keep getting a message saying my network cable is unplugged and my internet stops working. this problem has been happening off and on since i got my new motherboard. I have tried changing my ethernet cables and switching them around. Everything is plugged in.

And my Router is a Linksys Wireless-b, but i am connected directly to it through an ethernet cable.

I would also like to point out that, if i disable the device the light showing that it is working will light up on the router. also, the computer on this network that is wireless cna still use the internet fine.

go to the router e0/1 interface and check if its up by the command no shutdown( or if there was a gui mode u can try to find the int and check if its up ) hope this helps. can u go to the router and type show run and post it here ? we may find somthing that could be the problem

bad cable? try another one and see if it helps

do u have any software that makes u login to ur router or so ?

no software, and i have switched the cables.
