no, when i go to add permission to a folder i go to permission and then it has an option for what location, and the only location is the computer im already on, and it doesnt detect the other one. So i just set it to give full control to everyone.
you are supposed to create an account with same username/ pass on the win2k3 for advanced sharing options. your permission does it say "everyone" with an icon of people? what happens when you use simple file sharing instead of advanced, if thats an option on win2k3.
for winXP you can pop in the CD on win98 and select other tasks> setup network. wondering if win2k3 is the same or if you could make a floppy setup. an easy way to fix all of this is, could you just not use win98/ME? most of us are taking guesses since we cant see your computer unless.... you can install pcAnywhere on that win98
ohh yeah, i do have pc anywhere... i could do this, but it would be more of a hassle, because i would have to open it erytime i wanted 2 transfer files
