hi everyone.
i use XP and i ve installed zone alarm.
many many times, zone alarm displays a window with the following message:
"THE FIREWALL HAS BLOCKED INTERNET ACCESS TO YOUR COMPUTER
(NETBIOS SESSION) FROM (IP ADRESS..) (TCP PORT 4136) FLAG S"

I dont have a LAN and today disabled netbios.
could anyone please explain me what this message could be?
it could be a threat from the internet ?

it really isnt anything to worry about. just someone "knocking on doors" basically people run port scans to see who is open. zonealarm is blocking those scans. so you show up as not existing.

you can turn off those popups in zonealarm is you like

if i did not have a firewall, that could be a danger for me?

probably not. cause to do anything to you they have to be able to install something on your system first.

just keep your windows updated and run antivirus software.


mostly it is just harmless kids playing around.

You should consider a home router for added protection against port scanning.
