Default My Network Places...

Here's what is happening.

I am running winxp home and frontpage 2003. I recently changed web servers but the domains are the same. When I tried to connect to the domain in my network places it refuses to accept a valid user and password.

I have tried using "domain/user" instead of "domain/" but that has not worked either. I can add new locations but not any that were connected before the move.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bill

What is this "domain" icon's name?

Is it an FTP folder that requires a login?
If you put your mouse pointer over the icon, you will get a little yellow box telling you the address it is trying to connect to. Does it start with FTP://?

Here is my thought,

Is there someplace within windows that holds the data from my network places? The reason I ask this is I tried to add the server location of

somethingcreativeforkids.com

and when the window popped up to ask for the login and password, it displayed

www.somethingcreativeforbabies.com

which was an older server domain that I had deleted.

Please assist where you can.

Thanks

I'm guessing your new web server DOESN'T have server extensions installed (it's free with both windows 2003 server and windows 2000 server so they should be able to add it easily enough) if they're linux servers then you've got no chance afaik

The server that I had prior was a linux server and it worked fine. But thanks for the input.

Maybe this will help some of you to answer this for me,

I have other frontpage webs on the SAME server that work fine. I'm starting to think this is an XP problem more than a networking problem.

Ihate Xp personally, What if you check the authentication/permission? I had same same problem last time. It worked after giving permission to everyone/administrator/user/network....almost everyone, once you get connection remove the permission as you wish
