Default Microsoft fax service

I have a server running Windows Server 2003 standard edition, with MS Exchange 2003. My company is in the process of switching over software, this software may require us to use a network fax. We have a external U.S. Robotics 56k fax modem. Is there a way for our windows xp machines to use the External modem to send and receive faxes via outlook. The exchange server acts as our domain controller and mail server. And i know the faxes have to be routed thought active directory or something like that. Anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
