Default Login & Password fo local network

I have had 2 PC's on my network for a really long time and have always been able to connect to shared folders no problem.

I recently came across an old PC that I was able to reformat and install Windows XP on.

I added the 3rd PC to the network and enabled file and print sharing however I cannot connect to the folders from either PC.

I can see it on the network, but when I try to Connect a window opens saying connecting to PC3, then asks for a username and password.

Why does it do this? Should I just be able to browse all computers in my workgroup.

XP Pro installed on all 3 PC's.

Do you have an account on the 3rd PC with the same user/password?

Turn off simple file sharing on the new pc

In Windows explorer: Tools --> Folder Options
Scroll to the bottom and uncheck "simple file sharing"

I mean a user with the same name and password. Like Bob with a password of hello. And did you run the network setup wizard on the 3rd PC?

I did run the network wizard yes. As well, all PC's have different usernames and passwords. I've never had to enter a username and password to access PC1 and PC2, only PC3 is asking for a password when I try to connect to it.

Im lost!

Is there a security policy that I can look at here? Any more ideas?

gpedit.msc is the group policy editor. Also are you sure the network name is the same?
