Default Linksys Wireless N

I know that these wireless N routers are new and prone to flaws, but I put a new Linksys - Wireless-N Gigabit Wireless Router with 4-Port Switch. This is whats happening, we are randomly loosing signal and won't be able to view web pages. The router is hidden a closet which is made a think wood. We use to have a linksys wireless G router in there that never acted this way. Could its location possible be affect, even while it didn't effect the wireless G router?

CompShack is on a distinguished road

Default Re: Linksys Wireless N

I doubt it is BUT the best way to be sure is to take it out the close it and give it a try for a day. Is it possible to do that?

Rule of thumb for stuff with antennas is keep it in a place as open as possible for sure. I'm certain that's the problem. Maybe this one's signal works differently or is more touchy about that, they're not all the same range-wise.

Lorithad is an unknown quantity at this point

Default Re: Linksys Wireless N

Wood isn't that much of a signal stopper. The closet shouldn't be a problem. It is probably a settings issue, seeing as how this is a new router.

If it were a B or G router, i'd say it could be an authentication issue, but since it's N, i'm not sure.
If you could provide the models of the card and router, I'll see what I can digg up. No promises though. This is new territory for me.

When you upgraded the router, did you ALSO upgrade the client NIC's to wireless N cards, or are you still using the wireless G cards as you did with the previous router? I have seen reviews showing that many of the new "N" routers don't always play well when using B & G standards.
