I cleared all the spyware and virus using ad-ware SE personal version...and its still like that

i checked all the wires...they are not loose...i never touched the router or modem..it just disconnects and connects back on

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

As already mentioned, the best thing would be to contact the ISP and have them run remote testing on the line to see if there is any trouble. If you have a phone connected to this line, do you get any bad static, or dropped calls, anything like that?

Hey bonehelm, I was just having this same exact problem last week. Every 5 minutes the DSL light on the modem would go off and you'd be disconnected for a few seconds and reconnected after.

I found that there was something wrong with the wall jack I had my DSL cable plugged into. Try switching to another jack somewhere in your house and try it there...it fixed my problems.

And also do you have a filter on all your phones at home?? Cuz that could be an issue also.
