Default Internet Problem

I got a new computer and im trying to get the Internet working.AOL was already installed on it so i had to download the drivers for it as i already have AOL Broadband. The two green lights on the modem are on but when i go to sign on AOL it says "Getting AOL access numbers" then "Please plug fone line into modem".Anyone know what might be wrong?

AOL is what is wrong. Try to find a local ISP, as if you have AOL you also have a local ISP.

Check all your physical connections. Make sure everything is plug in properly. Seems to be a physical issue so check that first before ruling that out. But yeah man...AOL is a rip-off...$23.99/month for dial-up?? are you kidding me?? Don't be afraid to look at cheaper alternative like Netzero or Cooper.net...way better price with no proprietary software that AOL like to push on you.
