When I type any address in IE and press enter i get the message that internet explorer has performed illegal operation you nedd to close it. There are only two buttons one is close and other is details. When I click close IE closes and when I click details it gives me some message showing some memory locations. Antivirus in updated OS is win98.
What is the step by step procedure to solve this problem?

Run an spyware tool such as Ad aware SE (its free) link: http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10319876.html download, run, and delete all it finds.

And also i recomed u use a different web browser. Try Firefox. www.getfirefox.com

I would really recommend, after getting the spyware off, check out avant browser. YOU WiLL LOVE IT!!! It is great... Give it a try. I have tried many browsers and it is by far the quickest and nicest of them all. But yes you have spyware that is probably affecting your IE. Try getting Windows Anti Spyware Beta from the windows site. I just started using it. Not too shabby!
