Default I'm stuck, so is my tech support :(

Hi I just recently purchased and installed a Network Everywhere card by Linksys model # NC100U-WM

I got thru the install with a few hangups but it is working properly and no conflicts

Today i had the Cable guy out and he installed cable internet for me and gave me a cable modem, an old looking zenith but it seems to be working fine also

I also have a dial up adapter USR WIN modem I use for dial up at times and I also have a Wireless B adapter. I have both disabled in the hardware profiles atm in efforts of getting my network card to work properly

I have a valid IP address showing in my network card and I can ping sites in MSDOS prompt with good returns but cannot open any webpages. (im on a different unrelated computer typing this)

I have "do not dial a connection" selected and under lan settings there is no proxys checked.

what gives?

win 98

You shouldnt even be able to choose any of the options where the never dial a connection is. In the white box to the left, there should be nothing, and when there is nothign there the options to the right will be grayed out. You now have to run the Internet Conection Wizard, since you are running 9/x. This should work.

What is the problem when loading web sites? You should receive some sort of error message.

hmm... did you check the hosts file? also disable ANY firewalls and other programs such as zone alarm. Also, what does ipconfig show for the DNS server, make sure it is finding the IP address of the server. Run the winsocks repair tools at http://www.spychecker.com/download/d...sockxpfix.html

maybe that'll help. so you can ping the IP but what about the domain name?
