Default I can't get other computer on internet

I have my computer on the internet with a router but the other computer cannot get on the internet. I installed the discs on both computers and went through it all but it's not working. The other computer can get a signal from the access point but no internet. What do I have to do? Some kind of settings? This computer is xp and other is me.

Ok I got it working. It was zone alarm, I removed it from the start up list and rebooted and it worked. Is zone alarm still needed and if so how can I get it working without messing up the internet?

Usually with software firewalls such as zone alarm you have to enter the router as a trusted source. Simply enter your exceptions area or something similar and add the IP address of your router or a range of IP address's for your internal LAN.
