Default Hub not assigning IP addresses

Here's a good one for you guys...

I have a conference room that has only one network jack. I have to setup up the room for an additional 15 PC's for some training BS.

I have a Cisco 2950 hub that I've used for Ghosting, and wanted to use it for this makeshift network addition.

The problem is, is that I can't get an IP address on any of the workstations that I attach to the hub. If I go straight from the wall to a PC, I'm good... But if I hook it from the wall to the hub to the PC's I get nothing.

I *do* get a valid connection, but no IP.

I'm no Cisco expert, but I can only see one button on the sucker. It's called "mode", and it simply changes the light status on the ports. I've tried just about everything I know, and looking for suggestions. Here is the skinny of what I have.

Backend:
Cisco 5500 switch -> Cisco 1950 hub
We use QIP for DHCP management
I'm using a LMHOSTS to force authentication to my BDC
I've tried manually entering WINS and DNS
I've changed the preferred server in the registry

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Maybe the DHCP server doesn't have a scope that will support the addition of that many computers.

Hubs don't give you an IP. They just regenerate the signal. A router is best.

well, from the sound of it, your server isn't accepting that many comps (Elbatrop1). Or it could just be wrong settings in the ip config for all the clients your trying to connect.
