Default How is Charter Highspeed? Help me think of adv/disadv

I currently have the Bellsouth package for internet and TV or whatever, but it's costing me about $130 each month, and the Charter package (phone, internet, cable) will cost $99 for 1 year.

Now, this sounds good to me, but other than the rate increase after a year (which I have yet to find out what exactly it will be) are there any other disadvantages to this? It'll be a pain changing all my email addresses but whatever.

So, those who have Charter, how is it? Can you connect while you are at work to check your email (ie. VPN, since w/ AOL you can't, etc)

I have charter for cable and internet. It's $84 a month I think. I have the 1.5 meg connection. After your trial period I believe your cost for the package of all three is around the same as you are paying now. The package is a 3 meg connection too. Uou can get your mail from anywhere as long as you remember your email addy and password. You don't need VPN. Just go to Login enter your info and viola!

Edit: almost forgot, DO NOT get their internet security suite. Unless you want to pay for it every month. They give you a 30 free trial, but it is difficult to remove when it's over and many anti-virus programs won't install with it there.

I have the charter 3 meg package and am very happy with it. The phone service was a little spotty at first but works excellent now. Would reccomend it but I would love to know what it will cost after the 1 year trial as well.

I have Charter 5 Meg and I get 5078kbps on Speedtest.net. Its definitely worth the investment. Stable speed, little downtime, restarting the modem is quick.
