| Re: home network I am not at all familiar with Vista, but you will need to enable print sharing (and file sharing if you want) on each PC. To use the printer, their computer must be on, and your computer must have the print drivers installed. |

| Re: home network 1. share your parents printer.
start/settings/printers and faxes
right click the printer and click "sharing"
then there is a spot to share the printer over the network, choose it's name...yada yada
2. install on your computer
go into where you install a printer (i'll assume it's the same place on vista???)
add a printer
this printer is located on a network
click your parents computer
it will then install it.
right click the new printer icon created and click "use as default"
your parents computer needs to be on in order to print from your station because it will be acting like a print server
to share a folder
find the folder you want to share, right click, should be something saying sharing or sharing and security.
the window will have a brief instruction on how to share it (vista) |

| Re: home network Sounds like you need to reset your router settings then. I assume you ran the home networking wizard on each PC. Check any firewall settings too that could be blocking access.

| Re: home network put both computers in the same workgroup if you can(assuming your computer isn't part of a domain at a business or school).
Then Go to Start| Run | \\xxxxxx
xxxxx = the name of you parents computer. You should then be able to see any printers and folders that they're sharing.
