| Give us a little background about your internet connection. Do you have a DSL/Cable connection? What kind of router? Etc...

| man you need to go to that "bot/program" and go to its settings, most firewalls let you choose programs that you want to allow, rather than choosing port numbers.
mike man, he doesn't need to worry about anything else besides the program he installed.

| i have DSL, my ISP is pacbell, i share a network with my parent's computers.
Ive used some spyware/adware removal programs but nothing happened... i have a etherfast/dsl router and a wireless access point router (because my comp is in my room but no cables in my room). My ports closed roughly after i installed winwasher or som other stuff because i download alot... i dont really know which program/bot is causing this |

| the only prog, that i know of, that will close ports is a firewall or lockdown tool.
I think, in your situtation, you should check your access point, which prolly has its own firewall / ACLs. Without knowing your exact model, I won't be able to guide you...RTFM! |

I'm not going to tell someone to tweak the software when I don't know anything else about the connection in question.
