Default Help with network drivers?

Old driver for my Linksys LNE100TX model 5 network card are causing problems with the software I use. I just tried to upgrade drivers and it says it can not detect the card in my system when I run Diag.exe? In device manager it is working properly and it ddefinately says it is the Linksys LNE100TX(v5). Any ideas on what to do to upgrade drives?

Uninstall the driver if you could, then shut off the machine. Remove the network card from it's PCI slot and plug it into another PCI slot. If you have any buildin NIC card then boot up the machine go into BIOS disable the onboard NIC and boot back into Windows. You can get the latest driver from linksys.com, after downloading it then extract the contents then open up device manager, go to the NIC properties/driver tab click update driver. Select no don't contact web site. Then select specify location and point it to where you extracted the files. Lets see what happens
