Default Help with DSL tcp problems...

I just got DSL and i have a program that says i do not recieve incoming TCP connections dude to a firewall or OS config or a proxy... As i am aware i don't have a proxy whatsoever so i think it could be that my modem or the software for it has a firewall or somthing in the OS is cofigged to not work with it... Is there anyway to fix this like disable the firewall in the modem or what i can do to my os configuration to allow tcp connectins to come through? If you could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks. PS. I'm on windows ME.
