Default help with abnormal modem connection

somethings wrong with my modem, or the wire pluggings, or maybe a trojan caused it. the dialtone when i connect is different as well now, and the -bytes sent - bytes received- numbers kept stopping after an average of 3 minutes or so. i tried swithching the wires (the modem and telephone slots) but still the same results. i scanned with trojan hunter 4.1 but no trojans were found.

my friend told me maybe its the firewall (ZA 5.4) but the same results appear even when i shutdown ZA. u guys have any idea?

ps. my modem has a built in firewall but i disabled it anyway

Hey

As someone said once : "**** Happens!".
Could be a malfunction in your modem. this things tend to
breakdown. go to the local shop and get it checked

OK--- Have it ever work for you without giving you any problem?

What did you do afterward, did you change any setting, install any software, any power shortage during that time?
