Default got new laptop?

I am a newby. We are going on a road trip and I want to take my laptop and get online from the car. What do I need to do this. I am online by dsl and I have a toshiba laptop. Please help asap.

Depending on your cell phone and service provider, you may be able to get a data cable that connects your cell phone to your laptop and lets the phone be a wireless modem. Also, there are cellular modems available that you insert into your laptops PCMCIA slot. You can see one of those at http://www.sierrawireless.com/Produc...ng/pccards.asp but there are many, many to choose from. Only some will work with your cellular provider. That's the catch. You might try the web pages for your wireless provider to see if they offer a list. You can go to the web pages for your phone's manufacturer to see if they offer a data cable. Try Google-ing "cellular modem" as well.
