One of my coworkers is trying to connect to an ftp site. When she puts in the address she gets asked to put theuser name and password in. After she does this and hits enter. The little windows flashlight comes up and searches for about a minute or so. Then you get a FTP Folder Error message. It reads:

An error occurred opening that folder on the ftp server. Make sure you have permissions to access that folder.

Details:
The connection with the server was reset.


When you try to access the ftp site from my computer, there are no problems and you can get the files with no problem.

Any ideas how to fix this problem

What OS ?
Do you have the use passive ftp enabled ?
How about View FTP sites ?
Have you setup or reset the permissions on that folder that she needs to access ?

She is using windows 2000.

Not sure about the other things. how/where do you set them

In IE :
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced.
Scroll down and check the FTP settings.
There are a couple atleast.

Have you checked out the folder permissions for this user ?

There should not be a problem with the permissions. The same user name and password were used on two different computers. on one it worked and the other it didnt

Just a thought, does she have permission locally? Is her account limited or what?
