Default Ethernet controller

Okay... I have two ethernet ports on the back of my computer. I used to connect a friend's pc to the internet through the second port (the first being the internet connection). Since then I've reformatted.

The problem is, the first port works for the internet, but my computer does not recognize the second port. The green light is on when something is plugged into it, but my pc (under device manager) has a big yellow question mark next to it. Of course if I do the driver update, it can't seem to find anything. I've redownloaded my motherboard driver and reinstalled as well... and nothing. Don't know how I got it working before (over a year and a half ago) but it sure doesn't work now. What can I do?

By the way... mobo: nforce3 msiK8n neo2 platinum

Default Re: Ethernet controller

It is a driver issue... Generally, the boards with Dual NIC's are controlled by 2 different chipsets, so each NIC will have different drivers. This might not be the case 100% of the time, but in the Motherboard reviews with Dual NIC's that I have seen, it is generally the case.
