Default Ethernet cable ends

I bought Ethernet cable and installed my own ends on them with the crimper tool
that they sell for them. The cable does not work? Does anyone have instructions for the proper way of putting ends on a Ethernet cable?

Which way did you install the wires? They must be in the right order or it will not work.

You must also cut the coat at a good length in order to get the outer tab to clamp on the coat to prevent it from coming loose. When you crimp it, make sure the metal contacts cut through the entire wire.

Here is a good image for a straight through cable:

What are you trying to use this cable for. Because the cable have to be in a certain order or it will not work. Turtile link is exactly what you need. And also make sure when you cut the coating around the cable that you didn't accidentally cut into the small cable, if there's any copper showing then it probable won't work.

Crossover: Similar Objects (PC to PC, Switch to Switch) 1 Exception: PC to Router

Straight through: Not Similar Objects (PC to Switch, PC to Hub)

They don't need to be in a certain order, just need to be the same on both ends (with the exception of a cross-over)

Correct only if you are the only person that will ever be working on the thing. Also, make sure when you get the wires all in the order you want, take your cutters and make a nice flat cut of all the wires at once. Makes it easier to get them jammed all the way up into the connector.
