Default diasable Modem/network adapter when other being used...

here is the situation...

I'm looking for a way to disable the networking adapter or the modem when the other is being used. I can't find anything on google aside from using hardware profiles and that isn't a very good option for us... users complain way too much...

any help on this would be great...

csamuels says it right.....at least that's always what i've done...unless there is a better way of disablin'...share the wealth? haha.

Thanks for the replies...
I think you have missunderstood what it is that I'm trying to do...
for example...
You dial into a ras connection using your modem. I want the NIC disabled on the machine the second the Modem starts talking.
on the flip side...
You are connect to a network with your NIC. I want the modem diabled until you disconnect from the Network.

does that help with the idea... it's not as simple as disabling the device, this needs to happen automatically, and not be a manual process...
