Default D-Link DI-624 Problems.

Has anyone with D-LINK DI-624 experienced these symptoms?

The unit was working OK until recently; I started seeing "Network Cable unplugged" message at the button right corner of the screen. The message appears w/o me making any changes to the router configuration. Normally this happens when the unit is being rebooted or configuration is saved. Now I see the message almost every 2 to 5 min. Then it will stop and the router will work w/o any problems for couple of weeks and then again I will see "Network Cable unplugged" message. Once I get this message, by wireless laptop card, which is also D-LINK, will loose the connection to the router and I will not be able to connect unless I reboot the router.

Anything I can do to fix it? I tried rebooting the router, but that only fixes the problem temporarily.

You should check to see if your router has the latest firmware. If you dont, then go ahead an update your firmware. DO NOT UPDATE FIRMWARE WIRELESSLY. Make sure you DO IT hardwired to a computer. Updating the firmware might fix your wireless problem. Hope this helps.

I have the same router, and I used to and still have these problems.

Somethings that you can do to try and fix it is to upgrade the firmware on the router. When you goto the D-Link website and search for the router and the firmware, make sure that you select the correct revision. (I have Rev. C, which is no longer supported in America)

If upgrading the firmware doesnt work, try to change the wireless settings, I have determined that I was receiving interference from some unknown source, so I turned off Super G mode, and I dont have the problem anymore.

Let me know how those suggestions work out for you. If you have any more questions I will be glad to assist you in anyway that I can. Sorry if there are any typo-s. Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestions.

Unfortunately I am using the latest firmware. I verified it as soon as I started to have this problem. As you I have revision C (one antenna). I also do not use the Super G mode, because some of my devices do not support it.

It does looks like there is some kind of interference. There are a several people in my neighborhood with wireless connections. I can see it in the laptop wireless card control panel. Some times 5 wireless networks can be seen and the problem occurs when there are many wireless networks.
