Default Conjacent Channels on Wireless

in my house there are two wireless networks, and ive had to disable my wireless because it seems to interfer with the other wireless. my wireless is on channel 6 and the other is on channel 7. is that whats causing the interference? if i set it to channel 13 or 1, is it less likely to interfer?

Default Re: Conjacent Channels on Wireless

channels 6 and 7 will overlap.... I will try to find a Wiki giving better info... I think they need to be like 3 or 4 channels apart to keep from interfering....

EDIT: IEEE 802.11 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Look at "Channels and international compatibility" /EDIT
