The funny thing is, I am having a similar problem. But have you tried using a residential gateway option in the Network Setup Wizard?

I have the problem of one computer being able to access the other's shared files, but the other computer doesn't have the rights to access it's shared files. I don't quite know why.

Make sure that all of the compters are in the same workgroup.

Yeah, to join a different workgroup:

Go to System Properties > Computer Name Tab > Click Change

How is it not working?

Do you get an error message?

What have you actually done to set it up?

can your computers ping each other?

firewalls?

etc...
