Default Comcast Cuts Off Heavy Internet Users

Quote:
Comcast has warned broadband Internet customers across the country to curb their downloading or wind up on the curb.

The company has a bandwidth limitation that, if broken, can result in a 12-month suspension of service. The problem, according to customer complaints, is that the telecom giant refuses to reveal how much downloading is too much.

Thank god I don't have Comcast anymore... They 6 Meg service I was getting was hardly worth the $45/month... I much prefer my FREE 1.5 Meg DSL line through work... Actually, the DSL has MUCH less latency too. Take that Comcast...

They're definitely going to loose customers with this.

Are you kidding me? I really want to know what they classify "Heavy" users as.

I was hearing it was 100gigs a month or something awhile ago, I could be wrong, it's just what I heard.

I haven't had any problems so far and I've downloaded gigs and gigs of stuff.

I don't understand why they can't just tell us a limit?

Well I was hitting 20gb a week for about a month, and I'm doing fine. Comcast is great for me. Amazing speed (check sig) and a limit I won't break.

I think the limits are random. Not all areas are affected.

May be true, because I know for a fact the speed in my area is higher than normal, so the limits being higher is totally plausible.
