Default Changing Internet

My house is currently connected to a high speed broadband service through optimum online. It is all connected to my dads computer.

He has the modem and everything on his computer, so his internet is always blazing fast. For me and my brother, not so similar. We have d link wireless internet. The network is always shaky, meaning that sometimes the connection disconnects and stuff, randomly, for no reason.

I asked my dad to have everything connected using wires, but he says we will have to drill holes and ect, since our rooms are upstairs.

MY question is that, are there anyways to bring the wires up to the second floor without drilling holes? This may seem stupid, but I honestly dont know. ANd if drilling holes IS the only solution, it cant be that bad can it? My room is directly on top of my dads computer room, and my bros room is across the from mine.

It's not that hard to drill, I did it... Get a good router and some cat6 cables on newegg and you'll be set.
