Has this always been a problem? Try bypassing the DI-614 and see if he can get online then....

no it hasn't. i go there about every 2 weeks. you see they're pretty rich and no nothing about computer tech. so i make some money by going there and fixing their computer stuff. i fix something really easily and they act like i'm bill gates. ok moving on.... i tried setting up another network but that didn't help. also to add, their computer was filled with spyware and ad-aware but i deleted all that.

I would take Mikes advice as well to narrow down the problem...plug the cable connection directly into the PC and see if you get an internet connection then...if that works then you know it is a situation with the router (most likely a configuration error)...then you can go from there.
