Unhappy Can't connect to my own network....

I have unplugged and replugged my modem and router, restarted my computer, but I don't know how get my computer to connect to my Netgear. I have another computer in my house, and the router is connected to that computer. The internet connects on that computer, with Netgear, but mine just won't.

I don't know what to do. My computer connects to other wireless networks that are around, but not my Netgear one....

It's so weird...

Please, some advice, thanks.

XP ? VIsta ?

1. Try connecting the computer directly and see if it can connect that way. If that doesn't work...

2. You could try repairing the connection, which you can do by right-clicking the wireless connection icon in the system tray, lower right corner in XP, or, in Vista after right-clicking the wireless connection icon (same location), left click "Diagnose and repair". In XP I forget the wording but it is something similar.

3. If you do that and still no go, you may have to create a new wireless connection. Delete the old wireless one, and create a new one.

You could try renewing DNS settings at the command prompt, similar to:

C:\IPCONFIG /release [adapter]

C:\IPCONFIG /renew [adapter]

So its not connecting even wired?

I'd think that you maybe locked yourself out of the router.

Check 5he router settings, and then try to run the router unsecured and try it.
