I have a Linksys BEFSR41 router. Currently I have absolutely NO ports being forwarded to my PC. However, when I go to GRC's website and run shield's up, it tells me that ports 21, 25, 110 are all open. I have also used various other port scanning programs from both inside and outside the network and I get the same results. The XP firewall is enabled on the PC. This is a fresh clean install with absolutely nothing running in the background. Any suggestions???

let me be a little more specific on this issue... 1. I am behind a router. I have a public static IP in the router. 2. No ports in the router are being forwarded to the PC. 3. The only program actually running on the PC is the Symantec Corp Edition Antivirus. 4. I am on a T1 connection - NO DSL, NO CABLE. So, yeah, now I'm back to trying to figure out why these ports are coming through.

So the T1 router has all of its ports closed and yet the online scanners claim you have the SMTP, POP and FTP open? What happens if you telnet to any of those ports from outside of your network?
