Default can't acquire IP address

Hi,All,
DELL Latitude CPX Laptop with XP Pro + SP2 . it worked fine until the university changes its wireless setting. I followed the instruction ( I am using a USB wireless adaptor), it works in and out. finally someone in the campus tech support did something to my labtop and it starts to work for a week. then died for ever-- cann't connedted at all.

now, even I try to use WIRED internet, the computer keeps trying to acquire IP address, and failed finally, which shows it has limited or no connection(the yellow triangel shows up). so you see niether the wired or wirless network works now

to bring back my wired internet ( I already give up on the wireless), I removed the wireless adaptor program ( the source of the nightmare, I believe), and restalled my USB network(LAN) adatopr ( old laptop doesn't have a network card inside). it still not working. then I rsinstalled XP Pro in the "repair" mode. but it still shows the same problem.

so anyone could feed me some idea: what is wrong?

by the way, I run a "ipconfig/all" with the LAN adaptor. and the results is uploade to my yahoo album:
