Default Can now access files on each comp but howd I share an internet connection?

I now have the network set-up. the RJ45 Cross Over cables connected and comps can be accessed by each other.
I can access the files in shared area on the comp now. I created a short cut in there to my documents, then when accessing it with the other comp the short cut went to y documents area on my comp (secondary).
How can I access files on the primary computer and share the internet connection?

It needs two ethernet connections in one in one computer. Windows will help you share the internet.

I have a network card in each. Whyd I need 2 in one comp?

if you have winXP, make sure that ICS (internet connection sharing) is turned on... you may want to run the "setup home or small office network" wizard and choose the computer with internet access as your "this computer connects to the internet..." machine.

Correct Answer above. Add a modem to the XP and connect to the Internet. Share the connection using ICS. Create a disk to configure the second machine.

You don't. Set the IP for the second machine. Point DNS to the XP machine. or use the configure disk..... Your surfing.

Well, if you're sharing a modem connection to the Internet, you don't need two network cards. If you're sharing a high-speed cable or DSL connection, you probably do. (Can't say I've tried it.) One network card is used to connect your two machines and the other goes between the primary machine and the cable or DSL modem. ICS is the way to do that in either case. (Not the way I'd do it mind you, but the way with what you have on hand.)
