Can I use Webstar cable modem to connect 2 computers?

I have Webstar Scientific Atlanta cable modem FPC 2100 series. It has on the bacground two exits: Usb and cable. I have 2 computers and I would like to be able to transfer files between them and I dont want to buy new aquipment. Can I create local network through this modem? And how?

no but if you buy a crossover cable you can connect the two machines and connect that way. this would be the cheapest solution

Well you wonÂ’t believe it but I did it today! I decide to make a try anyway because I donÂ’t have what to lose and I connected one (USB) cable to one computer and the other (LAN cable) to other and I share one folder and I manage to transfer files without problem. Thank you for your answers anyway.

here's an interesting question, can they both access the inet at the same time?

No, but that is not important for me. I only need to transfer some files from one to another occasionaly
