Unhappy Cable modem not working

I am using Linksys cable modem BEFCMU10.It stops working quite often.Everytime i have to power cycle modem to make it work. i have no ideas why is it happning, why i need to power cycle it again and again....
Any ideas.....

There is no firmware for this product on the website of linksys, only drivers available.

I've got nothing solid to offer. A few thoughts:

Could be a faulty modem. Any friends in the area using the same service that you could swap with?

Is the cable modem plugged into a UPS or at least a good surge protector?

Is it running hot?
