Default Cable Disconnects Randomly

Hey,

I have a cable connection that is 'always on' but I have rust reformated my HDD and installed XP fresh. I have MSN Mess and AOL Mess installed as well as Norton 2004.

My internet connection will die every so often and I will have to reboot to gain net access again...

Does anyone know why? Norton wont fine anything even after updates. I guessed a script or something - but nothing! This is really annoying, I'm a heavy net user and can't keep losing the connection.

Win XP SP1 updated with everything xcept SP2. Firewalled and updated norton b4 I done any browsing to avoid eary version viruses.... didnt work!

Outlook sometimes triggers the loss of connection.

Loose MSN and AOL. You dont need them and they are both resource intensive.

Get a program like GAIM or Trilliam that combines all the instant messengers. You can also ditch the spyware on AIM.

What kind of router do you have? If you get cheap bottom end routers or old ones they do this
