| I have a modem hooked up to my pc through an ethernet cable. This computer has a wireless internet antenna installed. Is there any way to broadcast the internet to other computers in my house through it? If not, then would hooking a crossover cable up to an extra ethernet port allow me to share the internet? |

| You can use what's known as an Ad Hoc network. An Ad Hoc network allows two WiFi enabled devices (laptops, desktops, PDA's, etc) to make a network without an access point. You can do this using your network card's software or Windows' built in wireless utility. You may have to use a "Network Bridge" to allow the Ad-Hoc network to access the broadband modem network. Using an Ethernet crossover would work as well, but you'd also need the network bridge, as you're sharing network utilities between two connections on the PC. |
