| WiMax would be the future, replacing wired DSL?Cable modems! Actually, WiMax coverage would extend upto 45-50 kilometers under line-of-sight conditions, and about 7-9 kilometers in non-line-of-sight conditions. Typically, WiMax signals would be picked up by Access Points (APs - very small base stations!) and the signal will be used to cover the wireless clients hooked to the APs. The APs will be in LOS with WiMax for the best possible coverage and bit rate! |
