Default Both my homebuilds have lan 1 and lan 2

I have built two computers, they have the P5N32-SLI Deluxe and P5WD2 Premium motherboards, each has Lan 1 and Lan 2 ,
I use Lan 1 on each for cable internet. What can I use the Lan 2 on each for. Is this for hooking the two computers together to share programs and files and if so what cable is appropriate for this also what other uses for these.
Thanks for any info on this , I see nothing in the MB supplied manuals on this.

If you want to directly connect 2 computers together, get a crossover cable.

Your situation is probably the main one that people use that second NIC for. There are other uses for it, but you have the main one
